The photograph illustrates the larger than life size hi-relief carvings for the pediment of the west portico of the Iowa state capitol. This project required that Bybee artisans duplicate and creatively restore in limestone the severely eroded and damaged sandstone originals dating from 1879. The photographed figures represent Justice, Liberty & Knowledge. The entire sculpture measures 15 x 42 feet.
