Prindle Institute

Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics

Designed by Lake Flato Architects and built above a reclaimed quarry, the Prindle Institute is Gold LEED certified by the US Green Building Council. DePauw’s commitment to sustainability and the architects’ careful consideration for the project’s environmental impact, plus innovative green building practices, have resulted in a unique learning facility with a low energy footprint.

Bybee Stone Company supplied the irregular, cut blocks for this one-of-a-kind design. The use of limestone in both the exterior and interior is enhanced by cascading water and regionally harvested hardwoods; the whole effect is one which inspires thought and reflection.
